Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Date

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a computer-aided engineering (CAE) tool.Used to simulate the flow of fluids such as air, water, or any fluid in a system and understand the impact of fluid flow on the surrounding environment. CFD applications run most efficiently on high-performance computing (HPC) systems with high-throughput local storage, low-latency networks, and optimized CPUs.

In the field of CFD, high performance computing (HPC) plays a big role.In addition to running larger and more complex CFD cases, HPC also improves productivity by reducing simulation runs and increasing the output obtained from CFD simulations. HPC enables academia and industry to accelerate simulation-driven product development processes by providing a massively parallel computing infrastructure. CFD and HPC take advantage of the various cores or nodes on a supercomputer, so each node can be assigned a design iteration that can run the analysis and provide results.
