FERET Dataset is a facial recognition technology dataset. The U.S. Department of Defense Drug Trafficking Technology Project sponsored the development of the database, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology is the technical agent for the distribution of the database. The dataset contains facial image information collected between December 1993 and August 1996, and the related database is also used to develop, test and evaluate face recognition algorithms.
