SYSU-MM01 is an image dataset for visible-infrared person re-identification. The images are collected by 4 RGB cameras (for bright scenes) and 2 infrared cameras (for dim scenes). These 6 cameras collected a total of 30,071 RGB images and 15,792 infrared images of 491 pedestrians.

The dataset includes:

• Training set: 296 people, 20,284 RGB images, 9,929 infrared images;
• Validation set: 99 people, 1,974 RGB images, 1,980 infrared images;
• Test set: 96 people, 3,803 infrared images used as queries, and 301 randomly selected RGB images used as galleries.
