Random Access Memory (RAM)

Date

Random Access Memory (RAM) is also called main memory.A computer memory used to store data that is currently being used by the processor. Data or information in RAM can be quickly read and written in any order. The contents of RAM are generally faster to access than other types of information storage. However, RAM is volatile, meaning that any data in RAM is lost every time you turn off your computer. An alternative is to use non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM), which retains data without the use of power, but is more expensive and works more slowly, so it is used less frequently.
