Foundation Agent is the next important development direction of AI technology proposed by NVIDIA senior scientist Jim Fan in his speech at the 2023 TED AI event.It refers to a general agent model that can be generalized in both the virtual and real worlds.

Jim Fan believes that such intelligent agents will have a profound impact on our lives in many fields, from games and the metaverse to drones and humanoid robots. He emphasized that basic intelligent agents need to be expanded in three dimensions:

• Skills: the number of tasks solved
• Embodiment: the variety of body forms that can be controlled
• Reality: The amount of virtual or physical space that the agent can master. This includes games, simulations, and real-world scenarios with different rules.
