Von Neumann Architecture

Date

Von Neumann architectureAlso known as the Von Neumann model or Princeton architecture, it is a computer design concept that combines program instruction memory and data memory.

The term describes a computing device that implements a universal Turing machine, and a referential model of sequential computing relative to parallel computing.

This structure vaguely guides the concept of separating storage devices from the central processing unit, so computers designed according to this structure are also called stored-program computers.
