Global Climate & Energy Transition 2000 – 2026 Global Climate and Energy Dataset
Global Climate & Energy Transition 2000 – 2026 is a global climate and energy transition dataset for research on climate change, energy transition and carbon emission reduction. It aims to systematically depict the global climate change and energy transition process and can be widely used in climate science, ESG research, energy economics, carbon market analysis, policy evaluation and machine learning prediction. This dataset records the global climate change and energy transition process from 2000 to 2026, covering global and regional temperature anomalies, carbon dioxide emissions from 50 countries, energy structure transformation (coal to renewable resources), prices in 5 major carbon emissions trading markets, and 50 representative major climate events.
Dataset composition
- Temperature anomaly data: monthly temperature anomalies and atmospheric CO₂ concentration changes covering eight regions including the globe, the Arctic, Europe, and Asia.
- Carbon emission data: Includes annual CO₂ emissions, per capita emissions, and carbon intensity indicators for 50 countries worldwide, including China, the United States, India, Russia, Japan, Germany, Iran, and South Korea, from 2000 to 2026.
- Energy structure data: Records the proportion of eight types of energy, including coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear power, hydropower, wind power, and solar power, as well as the energy transition process.
- Carbon market data: Tracking daily price changes in five major carbon markets: the EU ETS, UK ETS, China ETS, California ETS, and regional greenhouse gas initiatives.
- Climate event data: Includes 50 major climate, disaster, and policy events, including heat waves, wildfires, floods, droughts, and other significant events.
